In questo articolo viene ricostruito l’impegno educativo e sociale di Angela Zucconi che, negli anni del secondo dopoguerra, fu coinvolta dai coniugi Calogero nella direzione del Cepas (Centro di Educazione Professionale per Assistenti Sociali). International social work is a field of professional practice that is widespread in various countries around the world, yet still little explored in the literature and little known as a specific field of action. Exploring its definition and its possible applications in practice, starting from the analysis of a social work case study within an international project, aims to encourage the consolidation of a flexible, inclusive and plural thinking and method, necessary both for social workers working abroad, or in international exchange projects, and for those working with foreign users, offering the opportunity to broaden horizons and at the same time to strengthen the roots of the profession.

Posteriormente se destaca la importancia de la comunidad como alternativa a la crisis que se produce en el contexto cubano de los noventa, a partir de la conjugación de tres factores: Caída de campo socialista, recrudecimiento del bloque de EEUU y la emergencia una crisis estructural. The pandemic has not just affected the health sphere: strong social effects of the emergency have added to the health risk, stressing on social relations and the deterioration of people's living conditions, and making those who are already fragile more fragile.
